Fixed Etsy Shipping Rates and a Funky Flower Finish as A Wall Pocket

Good Day,
We took Bailey to the pet store today and she got her first haircut. Oh you should see her. Her tail is so cute. I will post pictures as soon as she wakes up. It was an ordeal for her, she is an inside cat and never goes out.

I checked with the post office for rates on shipping outside the US for my Etsy shop, All fixed, and I added more charts. Thank you to everyone that ordered this weekend. They all went out this morning.

I got a little funky with one of my flowers and made it into a wall pocket. I added a whole bunch of beads all around and did some seed stitching too. So here it is.
Have a great day and I am working on Summer Pack #2

Update on Stitch An Inch Summer Pack 1

Hi everyone, Thank you so much for your interest in these little one inch designs. I finished the directions this morning and will pick them up this evening, work this weekend putting them together and they will be ready for the mail on Monday. So excited!! to share them with you. I decided I didn't like the looks for the Google Checkout, so I got rid of it and put things on my Etsy shop again until I get the website up and ready. Well I am off to stitch Summer Pack 2 and thank you again for your words of encouragement, you keep me designing

Have a nice summer like day.

Stich An Inch Mermaid is Finished

Hi everyone I guess the mailman could hear me yesterday because the pendants came today. The pendants measure 1 1/4 X 1 1/4 so I did stitch 3 extra rows all around her so she could fit in the square. I added a chain to the pendant along with some shells and a lobster claw so I could attach it to my scissors. (She's only 1 inch, so tiny) My idea is that you could make these into necklaces or ornaments also along with stitching them as one long scene. And Erica at Yankee Cross Stitch is going to make the long scene into a needlepoint belt. Cant wait to see it. I will show you soon how to finish them as 1 inch pieces without matting and pinning. It is so easy you will be thrilled.

Well this is my share for today and I just found out that Google has made a Google Checkout and they say it is ok to use with blogs and websites so I spent the whole day trying to figure it all out and I added a couple of pin cushions (on my side bar)  to see what happens. All new to me I was just getting use to Etsy.
Have a good night

Stitch An Inch Work In Progress

I have a couple more photos to share. I used the other "Stinches" HAHA!! I like that name. (half stitch and half inch) Then  made some other inchies with shells, sea glass, and a button on top of wool. Painted a piece of wood, then crackled it, and glued the little squares on top. I will add a ribbon hanger for that shabby chic summer cottage feel. I also signed up to carry the Petera pendants that I will sell in the shop and on Etsy. I will put the mermaid in it or you could use the Christmas ones that I am designing and give as ornaments.  I will make a utube video showing you how to finish these (I am brave)!!
So I am just waiting for the mail so I can  finish the mermaid and show her to you. Oh HURRY MRor MISS   MAILMAN.

happy stitching

My new idea!!

This is a 4 inch frame. Oh so cute from Michael's.

Hi everyone. Here is a peek of my new idea. If you have seen the book "Inchies" you know what I will be talking about. They are little designs that are an inch in size, mostly using mixed media and textiles. Looks like fun and quick to make. Well my idea is to make stitched pieces called "Stitch An Inch". I have designed "Stitch an Inch Summer Pack #1" and "Stitch An Inch Summer Pack #2" is in the process. Also in the works will be "Stitch an Inch Fall Pack", "Stitch an Inch Halloween", and "Stitch An Inch Christmas".
The summer ones will come with 6 designs and a bonus chart ( a mermaid on the first pack and a lobster in the second pack). I have a couple of ideas to finish these to share later with different frames and as ornaments. These are done over (1) on 28ct linen using a continental stitch with 2 strands of floss.
But if you do them on 14ct they would be 2 inch squares and if you stitch them all together the six all horizontal and the other 6 from pack #2 it would be 2 X 24 on 14 ct cloth and would look great over a door. They do fit together as one long scene.
I hope you enjoy my peek and I will share more as soon as I finish more.
Have a good night

I found 1 More :)

I found one more of my first stitched pieces. I got to be pretty good at turkey work and just loved it. It was exciting to cut the threads and brush the stitches with an old toothbrush. I remember just brushing his fur like it was a real dog. Well that is what I found for today, have a great one, donna

My First Stitched Pieces

My mom found these that she saved for me. I thought I would share them with you. I believe they were Jiffy kits. I am not sure because it's been so long but I truly enjoyed these when I was between 8 and 10. I think that's how old I was! (Ugh if I had a better memory)  I just know that I enjoyed the 3 dimensional stitching and working with the wool. So more of my designing will have some wool applique in it and who knows what else. If you have any of your early stitching pieces please share them with me I would love to see them.
have a great day
