Happy Sunday, I finished framing The Tidal River #3. Just in time for the deadline. I started stitching my new design too but wish i could do my Prairie Schooler santas. I just love them. Maybe they will have to be on my slow week at work list of things to do. We are going to make more whoppie pies this afternoon. I can smell them now, mmm mmm!! One More Free Chart Before Christmas

I have been seeing signs all around about candles and the song "Let My Little Light Shine", so I had to make one more free chart for you. It was even in my bible reading this morning and I read about it at least 2-3 times more in the past two weeks. Its for someone out there. I hope you all enjoy it. Well it started to snow. But its very little. I hope we dont get very much until I finish my Christmas shopping. Maybe I should hurry up I think I'm pushing it. I framed my freebie in the tiny frame. Free Chart * Happy Holidays 2009 *

I finished my model for this design and I guess when they put the size for the opening of the frame as a 2X3 they really mean a 1 3/4 X 2 3/4. Because I stitched it on 32ct over 2 and its just a little bit to big for my frame. So I'm in the process of stitching it again on 28ct over 1, and when I am finished I will share a photo with you of it in the frame.

Hi Everyone,
Happy Monday.
I'm still cleaning up from the weekend, even though yesterday I did take it easy. I have been stitching The Tidal River #3 and it should be finished by the end of this week and then off to the printer next week.
I have a freebie for Christmas for all of you. I will stitch it up today and tomorrow. I found a great small frame at our local Rite Aid. I couldn't resist it. It only measures 2X3. So I made a small design to fit into it on 32ct linen over 2. It should stitch up quickly.
Well I also got called into work this afternoon, someone is sick. I better get going and get my errands done.

Just in Time For Christmas

Well I'm late again but I just finished adding some beads and leaves to the smaller tree's by the houses. Thats why I stitch my own models because I'm always changing something. I just framed it. I will take a better picture of the frame but I wanted as much of the stitched piece to show up, so here are the pics. And I want to thank Janet Of Valley House Primitives for the wonderful frame. It fits great and is just what I was looking for.
Well my husband has been sleeping all day, so I have been quiet as a mouse but I think its time to wake him. Have a good night

I finally finished "Christmas Cove". I just need to frame it and I should be done by tomorrow. I will post a peek tonight. My husband is home again, he has to get rid of infection and then maybe surgery. So glad I have my stitching to keep my mind off things. Its my therapy. Good afternoon.
I think I had THE FLU this week,fever,achy and sore, cough, sore throat, and very tired (LIKE I GOT HIT FROM A TRUCK) with a touch of dizziness. But they say they don't test for the flu so only go on symptoms, stay home. But I feel better today. I did bring my husband back to the hospital yesterday. He was also there 3 weeks ago, same thing. Just have to pray and have patience. I'm having one of those days when your head seems to think to much, a little lonely, and procrastinating on what i should be doing. Well one day at a time.
Did I tell you I am almost finished my last Christmas design. I'll tell you the name "Christmas Cove". Marianne gave me the idea for a Halloween Cove but I didn't have enough time to get that one done for the season,so I thought I could do it for Christmas.
And I have a new project brewing in the kitchen( because that's the only extra room I have). It's not stitching but has to do with soldering and glass. I used to do stained glass and thought this project would be great to take up since I already know about glass. So that's on my list for this weekend too. I'll post pictures of that when I have something to show you.
Well here is a peak of "Christmas Cove". I have to go and do a little of everything and try to stop thinking so much.

Angel Of Hope Punch Needle Design

What a beautiful morning. I've been up early today, I'm in a mood to work. I've been designing, cleaning, and taking pictures. So busy that my coffee is cold. Whats Up

Hi everyone, My daughter and I helped out at church this morning with coffee hour. It was fun, we prepared, served, and cleaned up. It was nice to see everyone. It was my husbands idea to volunteer but he ended up no being well again today so it was just us girls. And then it started to rain, and what a cold rain it is today. One of those days to stay in. I decided to finish some directions on a punch needle angel that I made and sell her on my Etsy Shop, but guess who has the camera again and is not home? (my daughter) So I will post pictures tomorrow and post on Etsy also. But I'm of to stitch. I did put "The Tidal River #3" aside just for a week because I must finish another first. This one is for Christmas (Which is coming soon). But it's a secret that I will share next week. Until tomorrow (I am anxiously waiting for that camera).

Beautiful Day and Etsy Update

What a beautiful day here. I am going to do paper work(Ugh) and then I'm going to work on "Tidal River #3". I just finished designing a new one called "Old Brick House". Funny how I can't wait to start a new one but I must finish what I'm working on first. I decided to add my punch needle designs to my Etsy shop. So I did, check them out. Strange Finish ?

I finished the pink poinsettia this morning. I like the altered art that is done with paper so I figured I would try a little with some stitching. I just typed in my word document "Seasons Greetings". Cut the words out sprayed with coffee to color, dried with the blow dyer and glued down on top of wool with the glue gun. I also used some greens that I had from my stockings. I did mount the poinsettia on a 4X4 mounting board, pinned it all around and hot glued some green wool leaves that I cut out. Then glued that in the frame on top of the black wool. I tried for a little primitive look. Not sure what I think but its an idea that I can take and try with some other designs too.

Changed my mind again

Well what to do if you don't like your finish!! Try again. Thats what I did. I finished another frame for my pink Poinsettia. I thought it was so light that it needed a lighter finish. So I painted a frame for it and here it is. Well it's not here any more, its visiting Deb at Stitches N Things with its other model friends. I have been trying to post new things on Etsy but my new camera is not taking compatable pictures for them. Oh my, more things to figure out. Well have a good night, donna

Free Chart Happy Halloween

I have been very busy and some what perplexed when it comes to putting free charts on the blog. Always a challenge for me, the design can't be too big, has to be the right format for blogger, oh, if I could only remember from time to time what I did.
Well at least I got it done. So here is my little paper doll figure (kind of). It started out looking more like a paper doll and has gone through some changes but this is what I ended up with. Hope you can stitch it and find a use for our little happy friend.

New colors for the Poinsettia

Good morning, I finished the poinsettia in other colors and changed the leaves to have some veins. Here is a quick picture of it finished. I thought I would make a pink one. My New Project

Well i spent some time yesterday picking one color of each of DMC. Here is my photo. I am going to put them in a binder with the floss pages. I went to a show a long time ago and saw that someone else did this and she had it on display, I just loved it. I tried the fishing tackle box's but I share my floss with my daughter, she makes bracelets and the floss never gets back in the correct place. So this project is just for me, I'm not sharing these (Shame on Me) but a girl has to have her own stuff sometimes. We've been watching football and I have been stitching, a finish for the "Poinsettia" release. Well I have to go I think I smell chili in the air!!!mmmmm.......

New Finish For An Old Stocking

I finished the new do for last years stocking. I used a corduroy fabric with small green dots, and an 8X10 frame just like the poinsettia.
The poinsettia will be released in a couple of weeks. I have one model to finish that will go along with it.

I also finished the pocket too. I used a plaid background for the pocket with a different shaded frame. The frame was also an 8 X 10.

Poinsettia Finish and oh my what to do about silk?

Wow , thank you for all your opinions, My dilemma is that my design is called "The Silk Road". It will picture mulberry bush's, homes, camels, roads, mountains, birds, etc, and will tell the story behind the silk road. So of course it should be stitched in silk (But we can do anything we want) I have much to check out, thanks to everyone that replied to my question. I appreciate your time.

And I finished the framing for my poinsettia. I love shopping for things to use.
I found mostly everything at "JOANNES" again. Thank goodness for fabric stores.

I did find some very small pomegranates to use for finishing my other stocking. Here's a picture of what I will use.

But it will have to wait until Wednesday, I have to work tomorrow so no time for finishing projects.

i need your opinion

I hope you can help me. I am planning on releasing a design in February and I have to design and stitch it. Which its just an idea so far but I do not stitch very much with silk. I usually use DMC to keep projects more affordable and I do love their shading. But this project must be silk, so here goes. What silk should I use?. Many people use Needlepoint Silk, some use Au Ver A Soie. Is there something else that people like? Or if not which one of these do you like better. I just need some opinions to set me in the right direction. Thanks for your input and I hope the design will be a surprise. Maybe I can give hints along the way but February is a way off. donna

One More Small Design

Happy Saturday, Its a rainy day here, and I like it. I always loved rainy and windy days. I'm working on finishing up a small design that I made. Still figuring out a way to finish it, but here is a picture of it. And I still haven't found any small pomegranates yet, but I'm still looking. Oh the fall is great, I feel like cooking again, it's not to hot for the oven to be on for a few hours and I think I can smell the roast and potatoes, with carrots. Good Morning

What a cool New England fall morning. Just sitting here having some coffee waiting for my daughter to head of to school. Here are a couple more pictures of my finished "Winter Stocking". I named it that because it leaves me room for a Spring Summer and Fall stocking. It was fun going to "Joann Fabrics" and picking out fabric for the background. It might have taken me an hour but it was fun. Then there were the greens, well its fall and not to many stores have any winter greens or berries out yet, but I found some. Then the frame was a challenge too because I wanted a dark wood but didn't want to pay too much and it had to be big enough for the greens. So off I went to "Michaels" with my 50% off coupon. So here is the picture of my stocking.

I went to Yankee Cross Stitch and picked up my other models from last year of "Outline Christmas Art #1".

I have some fabric for those and plan on framing that stocking the same way. My "Christmas #1" has pomegranates in it and roses so I plan on hunting for some small dried pomegranates and old looking baby roses to put in it.I already have a plaid fabric with the same colors. I will post some pictures when its done.

hi, bill is finally home. hanging out on the couch and taking it easy. waiting for results and more doc appointments, but at least he is home. i never made it to meet my mother for lunch yesterday but we made it for breakfast today. picked up some last minute things i needed to frame some stitching. i never got to take photos either of me finishing my stocking, maybe next time. so here is a peek of the stocking. i will post the finished picture tomorrow as soon as i pick which one i like the best. i do like the way i finished the stocking, its nice to have an alternate way to hang them and it looks like a piece of art or a decoration. have a quiet evening, donna

While my husband is in the hospital I decided that it was a good time to go to the book store, take my time (a long time) and look for books. This is my list:

Well today is a day off so its a good day to super clean my bedroom, finish the model for my Winter Stocking, finish stitching some ornaments, and visit my mother and take her to lunch.
I figured while I was finishing the stocking I would take pictures as I did it so I could make a small tutorial for the blog on how I finished it. That should be a challenge.
My husband looks better but still no results yet, they said he should be home in a couple of days. His spirits are good because he is getting better care and more concerned doctors.
