Summer Cove

Well here are the pictures of Summer Cove. I had a hard time the other day. I had to get the picture done by Tuesday morning and the charts in the mail, so I picked them up from the photo store and it was to pink, but I had to take it because there was no time for a retake. So the pic on the charts has a bit to much pink, the cloth is really Lambswool. I just did a retake today with a frame and this one is a bit better. Here they are! Soooo busy

Well i have been sooooo busy. i have become a slow stitcher. i really think it's time to change fabric and get eye glass's from the doc. i have been working hard to finish this design and i finally did. but i think for the next project i will have to use either aida cloth again or maybe a lugana (i heard jobelin was hard to get) or at least a 28 count fabric with a more even thread. stitching is suppose to be enjoyable and this was a bit stressful, but it's done and hooray!!! here is a peek of the design and i'll post a picture of the finished one on wednesday. "summer cove" has huge geraniums that are growing in a tree. they are my favorite summer flower around here. i just love when i see them in pots with ivy hanging down and the red ones are also my favorite. until wednesday, have a great night. donna

A Little Side Tracked

My daughter and I decided that we needed to spend a little more time doing something together. She does not like stitching so we had to find something and it's drawing, painting, and collage. So here is our attempt.I made the girl with the big eyes and inside her dress I put some photos of us together from the years with "Love it's all that matters". She worked on a personal one for her of a girl walking down a path with some words to a song that she likes. Can't show you to much of hers because its just for her. New frame for a design

Hi, I am in such an organize mood. It's crazy. It's actually driving me crazy. I've been searching for the right bins or storage ideas that fit in my very small closet.
But one of the things I wanted to do was change the frame for "Spring Cove". so I decided to just get a can of spray paint from Michael's and give the old gold one a new look. Here are a couple of pics of it. It's kind of funky, but I do like it better than the gold. Still working on a couple of other projects for my Etsy shop. Well of to my organizing. Wish me luck.

Nantucket Summer Sampler

Happy Sunday morning. I finished framing "Nantucket Summer Sampler".
I thought a distressed white frame would be appropriate for such a beachy theme. Here are some close-ups and the complete picture. I am glad I finished it, I was stitching slowly lately, but I made it. It should be ready for distribution within a week or two. I started on "Summer Cove". I decided that I need to start a stitching group in this area. I really don't have anyone that cross stitches that I know of and it would sure be a treat to get together with other stitchers, so if you live in the York Maine area please email me and maybe we can get a group together. Happy Memorial Day

Hi everyone, I spent part of the day putting together a fire pit, so we can pretend we are camping in our backyard. Also spent some of the day sitting on the sidewalk that is in front of the ocean. It was high tide, no place else to sit, and so many people, that was the best spot we could find. That's OK, I just love the smell of the ocean. I stitched in front of the water and that's all that mattered. I am working on "Nantucket Summer Sampler". Almost finished. Here is a peek. My daughter had a green filter on the camera so these are not the correct colors. I'm off to light that fire pit and just relax. still here

hi everyone,
i have been feeling the winds of change blowing through. i feel like mary poppins when the wind changes and something big is happening. not sure of what it is but things don't feel the same anymore. life is evolving as it always does. i'm still stitching but not as much. i have 5 projects designed. when i have new pictures to post i will. just wanted you to know that i'm still here just moving along a bit slower. i found an appropriate song for my feelings. have a good week, donna

Models On A Field Trip

Just a quick note to tell everyone that is in the New England area that Celebration Of Needlework will be held at the Marriott in Nashua NH from April 29th - May 3rd this year. Yankee Cross Stitch will be a vendor there and Erica will have my models there to display. Hope you can attend and the shopping and classes are great. Off to put more charts together. Quick Peek New Design and A Strawberry

Good Morning,
Here is a peek of my new design (not named yet) and a strawberry that I made for fun. I took the pattern of my strawberry thats on my Etsy Shop and changed colors and instead of a wool finish for the leaves I made some stitched ones.
So much stitching to do, still working on "The River" series. That should take me a while. Off to a meeting and then to work. Have a good day,

Happy Easter Weekend

Hi everyone,
I would like to wish you a Happy Easter. We are having family over and an Easter egg hunt for my grandson. Rain or shine we will have a good day.
I've been designing on the computer and can't wait to get stitching. So much to share but it will have to wait until after the weekend. I think I need help stitching!!
