Crochet update ....

I know  many of you are doing the Stitch A long but I thought I would post something I worked on last week. I do get tired of counting , checking charts, and making mistakes. Yes I made many on this Stitch A Long part #1. It was like something did not want me to do it but I am stubborn and would not give up :)
I had to FROG about 4 separate times for such a small area but keep in mind it was just me not paying attention. So my alternative when the sun goes down is to crochet. I free-formed this piece that I am using for a doily on my table in the studio. I just love all of the colors and no pattern to follow YEAH!!!
I used up my stash of pearl cotton.  Hope you are stitching better than I did on part #1
Oh and one more thing I TRIED to iron my Stitch A Long piece to photograph and show you but yes I sprayed to much water and it ran. Weeks Dye Works floss is colorfast now but my stash from long ago is not.  My white turned pink and I was not happy so I threw it away. Imagine this is the piece that I frogged 4 times, but my new stitched piece is just fine and I did not have to FROG anything (YET) !!
Just sharing my stitching adventures!!

and the Mystery begins.......

I have a link for you to download the PDF file for the First part of the Stitch a Long.
Just click on these words "Mystery Stitch A Long Part 1"
I do have ONE change that I made and it is to the Floss that you need,
You can eliminate Ecru but you need to add DMC 642.
If you would like to send me photos of your progress please send them to stitchbythebay at hotmail dot com. If you do send them to me you are giving me permission to share them on the blog and if you have a link to your blog I will link them for you. I will not share any photos until at least Friday night or Saturday morning. This way people can stitch up a surprise for themselves.
I cant wait until week 4 when we will embellish with embroidery. If you do not want to do the embellishing you dont have to the picture should be fine as it is.
On this first part you will notice that there are some straight stitches. Please do not do these straight stitches until we complete all 3 parts of the design. Only cross stitching for the time being.
Well good luck and most of all have fun

Birds Of A funky Feather #12 YEAH!!!

I just finished "Birds Of A Funky Feather #12". I am so happy, it has been a long process for me. Here is a pic of #12 and a pic of the whole piece. Did you notice how close I got to the edge :(. Shame on me.
It will not matter to much because I am finishing it as a quilted wall hanging with wool leaves and vines. As soon as I am finished I will give the directions to finish it like mine for you as a PDF for free:)
Enjoy the eye candy for today.

Free Design "Happy Spring"

I have a "Happy Spring" design for you. I am sooooo happy spring is here. I just love listening to the birds sing in the morning. I don't even care that they wake me 4:00 am :)
I made this little happy bunny sharing his flowers with you. I have the chart as a PDF for you to stitch and finish as you please. If you would like to finish yours as I did  I have available the directions for finishing with the finishing kit on my Etsy shop. The finishing directions come with 14 color photos to help you along the way. The kit supplies are the wool,  plastic template disc, ( lobster claw, chain, and wool with grommet already put together) and the fabric with the printed words "The flowers are springing up, the season of singing birds has come and the cooing of turtledoves fill the air"  Song of Solomon 2:12.

Just one more quick note I will be teaching at Yankee Cross Stitch in North Hampton NH a workshop on May 17th from 10:30 to 1:30. The cost is $40.00 and includes a choice of 1 of 2 doors that are available.
These doors have been originally hand painted by renowned Maine Artist Kathy Carter in collaboration for our newest product line. These paintings have been printed onto Kona Cotton for embellishment. If you are in the area please join me for this workshop. I would love to meet you and talk stitching.

Have a great day and talk to you again soon,
