Sneak Peek @ New England Whaling Waters

I have been working for a couple of hours on the clouds in this design. I am having fun with it. I think it will look old but still a little funky. I also updated my other blog By The Bay Trunk Shows with more of my designs and the info like fabric, floss, and stitch count.
Off to stitch more and put dinner in the oven.

And the winner is !!!!!!

And the winner is KIMV
I waited until last night to draw the name. I cut up all of those papers and let my daughter pick one. Then we played scrabble until late. She beat me!!
I am on my way into the shop to put the "Let Love Soar" kits together and then I will post them this evening after work on my Etsy.
I hope you have a great day and thank you for all of the comments you left :)
I am stitching a new design and I will put up some peeks this weekend when I have more to share. But here is a hint "Thar She Blows"

Free Kit Raffle - To chase away the winter chills

Hi everyone,
It has been very quiet at the shop lately. I guess everyone is staying home trying to keep warm. Don't blame them. But today I had a very nice customer that made my day. It was Valarie from here in Maine and I was so excited to see someone. I think I showed her all of the things I am working on.
One of them is a kit called "Let Love Soar". I have been amazed at all of the crafts that are becoming so popular. Maybe its because of the Internet and blogs that everyone can share so much more and get tons of ideas.
This kit has a few of those things. I dyed the 25ct Lugana fabric with a little RITZ and water in a spray bottle. I used a brown, green, and a yellow. Also included is a piece of wool for the heart, a few beads to secure, and some card stock stamped wings to add some dimension, and of course floss for the cross stitching. You just need the needle for cross stitching and a beading needle.
You can make a little of your own altered art with this quick little kit.
I will be selling them on my Etsy shop starting Tuesday and I will be giving one away on Tuesday.
So just leave me a comment for your chance to win and no anonymous ones please because I need to be able to get in touch with you if you are the lucky one.
Hope this will help keep some winter blahs away.
Have a good night

My TUSAL needs more floss!!!

Hi everyone, I have joined Daffycats TUSAL and I am posting a picture of my extra large jar that I will fill with my ORTS.
TUSAL - (Totally Useless Stitch A Long)
ORTS (Old Ratty Thread s) HAHA. I like this!!

I never knew what these letters meant but now I do. You learn something everyday.
I have tried many times to save these threads and never managed to get more than a handful but I will try harder this year since everyone else is doing it too.
Its fun to belong to a group even if it is totally useless. HAHA

My Christmas Penny Rugs, Doilies, Appliqué Mats, Whatever!!!!!!!

Good morning,
Here are the pictures I promised of my penny rugs, applique mats, doiles, I am not sure what to call them. Any suggestions?
The first one is a white one with green around the edges and then I made a smaller one a very small round table that I picked up at the second hand store for only $15.00
I can also put the smaller one on top and it looks pretty cool. So that is my shared idea for you today to make some (Whatevers) and make them interchangable.

Morning Sun

Here is the picture that I took with the morning sun. I have beads in the center of some budding flowers and then I added beads to the sheep. Of course I made some Rhodes stitches inside the large peony flowers ( these are becoming my favorite stitch second only to french knots) .

I have some pictures of some wool table covers that I made for Christmas. I will share those tomorrow. And I finished a wool applique bag that I made for a class at the shop. So check tomorrow evening for more photos.

Peek @ Peony Hill

Good evening everyone.

I have a peek for you of Peony Hill.

You wont believe how I framed it. I tried to get a special frame made but it was going to take until the end of the month. I needed to release this sooner. So I made my way to Michael's craft store and found an 8 x 10 frame and got a nice green mat. Well I knew I would have to cut the mat a little because my design is a little bigger than the mat but much to small for an 8 x 10. So I carefully cut the mat and oops, a piece of the green paper came off. I needed to finish this so I got out my bottles of paint, 3 shades of green, 1 of pink and a white. I sponge painted the mat and let it dry. I like it, not the same greens but oh well I still like it. I will show you tomorrow after I take some photos at the shop with some sunshine.

Have a good evening
