Holiday Photos

Well here we are, resting from the holiday. I thought I would share some photos with you. It was very nice. We had my mom over for a few days. My son came by on Friday with my grandson. He's always smiling (most of the time). The weather was so nice compared to the weather we had last week. The snow is melting and I can finally get my car into the driveway and not have it hanging out in the street. Time to relax and share. Time to make plans for next year, God willing. Plans to lose weight, to make new designs, to stay positive, to grow as a person, and most of all to be thankful for everything no matter how big or small. I'm posting a photo of one of my favorite gifts that I received from my mom. It's "COURAGE".

Snowy and Cold

Here are some pictures I would like to share. One is my bear that I made along time ago. He is so small. He was my attempt at miniature bears. Another is my picture of "Lend A Hand" on my door. The other one is a tiny stitched ornament that I purchased a long time ago too from a craft shop.
Going to do more stitching. I'll share more another day,

Just Hi!

Just thought I would say Hi on this very cold Saturday. I ran out of toner so I can't print off directions for my new design or print a new design to stitch. So off to finish up some Christmas presents. I did add on my Etsy shop a Round Robin kit that I had left over from an event that I attended this spring. I also posted a picture of a pin that I made. It's the center of "Box Of Summer". I stitched it over 1 on 28ct linen. It's about 1 inch square. I finished it on some wood that I stained with my finger prints. Well hope you are keeping warm, Donna

Picture of Alphabet Sampler

Here is a picture of the Sampler I will be releasing some time in January. A-B for January. And every month after that 2 more letters. I put the pages for the wool book under the sampler so you can see those also. I still have to stitch the pages back to back and add the grommets, and rings. I'm actually excited when I stitch this because it's not finished yet so I get to anticipate the sampler and the book. It will be a surprise for me too. Well off to babysit my grandson. Donna

Finished "Mystic Island"

I finished "Mystic Island" last night. Here are some pictures. I still have to frame it. We have so much ice here today, no school and I have no work either. Plenty of people have no electricity but we still do. I am so thankful for that. Funny how you just take so much for granted and never think about until it's gone. Well I'm of to finish more projects and maybe post more pictures later.
Have a good day. Donna

Peek at 2 new releases for January

Hi everyone,

I've been spending the day baking woopie pies(mm mm good), stitching, laundry, and my husband volunteered to clean the candle holders for the Christmas Eve service. We took them home to work on them here. To much stuck wax, ugh!

Well I plan on releasing 2 new designs for January.
One is my stump work alphabet piece. But instead of stump work I am working it in cross stitch with some different stitches. Every month I will release 2 letters for your sampler.

Also I am stitching the letters on linen and finishing with wool. Each letter will be separate with a different wool finish. You will blanket stitch these 2 wool pages together, insert grommets, and put the rings through them and make an alphabet book.( you'll have to see it, I'm too tired tonight to explain it well) Every month you can add 2 more letters. So you can finish this project either way, as a sampler or as an alphabet book.

My other design is a bay scene like some of my earlier designs.

I'm almost finished my "Lend A Hand". I decided to make a hanger for it and hang it from our door. So every time we leave the house we can think of what we can do for someone else.

Off to give my daughter a ride to a Christmas Party,
Have a good night

Free Chart "Lend A Hand"

I was looking in my software program at some things that I haven't done anything with. I would like to give this chart to you free. Make it for a cause or for a friend that has given you a helping hand. Maybe even for that someone that is always helping out. I haven't stitched it yet so you need to choose your own colors. Maybe a pink heart for breast cancer awareness,or change the flesh tone. Please make it your own or special for someone else. Make it for your children's room to remind them that they should at least lend a hand once a day. Maybe you could put it someones lunch box, and have it mean that they have to do a good deed in school, come home, and share what they've done. Be creative for a helping hand, pass it on or pay it forward.
This is a free chart for you to stitch, not for commercial use.
Have a great week
Love Donna
I believe you have to save the image to your pictures and then print from your file.

Happy Sunday

Good Morning,
I feel better, my cold is gone. We had a nice holiday with family. We're babysitting my grandson today. What a cutie. He reminds me so much of my son when he was that age. I have some photos of "Courage" that Dora finished and shared with us. It looks great. Well I'm off to babysit, maybe I'll have more time later to post but I'm busy with a two year old, having fun.

What a Cold!!

Ok I'll try to post something but I have the worst cold. I can't stop sneezing and my nose is like a faucet. Maybe more than you wanted to know, sorry.

I've been working on something for next year for a release every month. I'm trying to incorporate wool work with cross stitching. But I'm giving you two options to finish it if you don't like to work with wool. I'll give you a peek next week.

Oh well I guess winter is here because my car doesn't like winter either. It wouldn't start yesterday. We had to get someone to come and give it a jump. Time for a garage visit I guess.

This photo is something I made up that I was saving but I can share it today.
(But it's still a secret)

Have a good Monday

Snowflake Ornie's

I thought I would share a picture of what I made with some of the snowflakes from my new pattern.
I stitched some flakes on linen * cut out round circles from felted wool * cut out a center circle from the top one * buttonholed them together * cut out some leaves from the felted wool * sewed them on *added beads * added a wool hanger.
There you go. Quick stitched winter decorations.
Hang them in your window, wreath, or from your tree.
Just an idea to share.

Keep those fingers busy. Tis the season.

Last of the Fall Tin Containers and My Imagination

I've posted the last of my "Fall Tin Pin Containers". I'll be focusing next on some Christmas decorations, birds, strawberries, and wall pockets for all those dried berries.

I'm still working on finishing my frame for the next cross stitch release. I promise to have it finished for a posting tomorrow.
Here's a picture of one of the things I just posted on my Etsy.

Well I'll be stitching all night. I've made myself a fake fireplace to stitch in front of. I've been wishing all week that I could go some place like a log cabin with a fireplace, just sit on a cozy comfy chair, not be bothered, and just stitch all day. Well I'm using my imagination except that I have to put the lights on to see.

Have a good night,
Donna

More Things and a Trunk Show

Here is a picture of my Pin Tin that I use for myself. Sorry the picture is a little blury, crazy camera.

What a nice warm day we had here. We didn't have to put the heat on.

I went to the post office to mail out a trunk show that will be visiting "Where Victorias Angels Stitch" in Clifton NJ. It's 15 minutes outside of Manhattan. So if any one is in that area stop by and see Tawny. I provided a free raffle give away of "The series Box of...Season charts (4) and a Faux hand painted frame that I made for the series. So visit the shop and sign up for the raffle.

I'm still working on the faux frame for "Winter Cove". I will have it finished for this weekend.

Good night

New Design Peek

Here is a very small peek at my new design. Can you guess what it is? Well I changed "Autumn Cove" to "Winter Cove". I finally finished it this morning. I'm not used to the hour change yet and I was up bright and early. It went so quickly with the Aida cloth. I'm off to the art store to buy my frame bars to put together and paint for the model. I will post a finished picture next weekend.
I need to plan some kind of town for my MM&IRR.

Good Morning

I have a link to Cyndi's site that shows another "Courage" that was finished. Check it out, it looks great with the heart charm at the bottom.

I've also posted a couple of my Fall Pin Tins to my Etsy shop.

I hope everyone has a safe Halloween and keep warm.

Still working on restitching my new design, it's coming along good. Thank God for Aida cloth, it makes it easier when your eye site is aging.

Off to work with the wee little ones at day care, have a good day.

Pictures from this weekend and my new "Pin Tins"

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for all your prayers. My husband is doing better than he was. We still have more doctors to go to but at least he's getting out more. The hospital still hasn't found my bag yet but I started stitching it again. I was stitching on 32ct linen and this one is on 16ct Aida cloth. I can stitch so much faster when I can see.

I have some pictures to share from this weekend. We took a walk on the cliff walk which has signs posted that you should proceed at your own risk. We did, and we collected some rose hips to dry.

I also finished 7 of my "Pin Tins". I made the leaves with wool and made the acorns with real caps and the bodies out of wool. When you open the tins there is a magnet on the inside cover for your pins or needles and the bottom of the tin is lined with wool to store floss or tiny scissors or some special treasures. I'm not going to post them onto to Etsy until Wednesday evening.

I received an email from Sally and she shared a photo of "Courage" that she made. It looks good on white and she also stitched over one. I love it and I thank her for sharing.

Well thats it for this evening, until Wednesday, have a good night, Donna

Oh No! They can't find my bag!!

Thank you for your comments. My husband has had a bone marrow infection and was in the hospital for a couple of weeks. He was sent home with a pic line in his arm so that he could have his antibiotics go directly into his vein close to his heart. He's had that at home for about 5 weeks know, but started having some pain under his arm and they had to make sure he didn't have a blood clot. He does not have a clot and he's just resting more at home. The infection is finally subsiding but it's put a burden on his liver and know we will see a liver specialist next week.
But!!! I went to the hospital to pick up my bag and they can't find it. They're not sure who said they had it, but they said they would search. They also said they would pay for my glasses if it doesn't show up. But my new design was there, and my new eye glass case. Well I guess I have to start stitching Decembers release all over again just in case it doesn't show up. I'm determined to make it no matter what. But on a good note, I took my daughter to the dentist (it's been a while since she's been - she hates the dentist) and no cavities. Yeah!!
Have a great night.

Working On Wool Projects

Hi Everyone,
I’m still here. I’ve just been trying to make a bunch of wool accessories for my Etsy shop. I’m working on some eyeglass cases, some watering can pincushions, some tin needle cases, and some small bird ornaments for the Christmas tree. I’ve also been working on my new design for late November release. I was 2/3 of the way finished, and I lost my stitching bag.
We took my husband to the hospital the other night and while waiting in the emergency room I was stitching. I guess when it was time to leave I left my bag there. I am never like that. I am always so careful. I had my new design, 2 pairs of reading glasses, and my new eyeglass case that I just made with 3D flowers and leaves. I have been anxiously waiting to hear, and the hospital finally said someone turned it into the lost and found. So I'm on my way to pick up my bag, which I will never leave again. I think I’ll tie it onto my wrist.
Have a good day and keep stitching, Donna

New Design Picture "Around The Robins Nest"

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for your comments on the free design. If anyone finishes one, and would like to share their photo please email me and I will post them. Feel free to change the colors. I was also thinking of adding some curly yarn on top of the lamb. Just be creative.
I’m posting a picture of “Around The Robins Nest”. I finished the frame. It should be out to market by next weekend. Have a great autumn day and I’ll post more tomorrow.

Free Chart "Courage"

Well here’s my freebie chart and this is why I made it.

I’m one of those people that ask for signs to make sure I’m doing the right thing, or maybe just to know that God is hearing me.

I had a year of finding pennies everywhere:
I’ve had my time of seeing owls everywhere:
When I made “In My Fathers House” I read those 2 verses everywhere.
Now all of a sudden it’s “Courage”.

I hear about it on TV, in church, and in books. I’m not searching for it but it’s just showing up. I’m not sure if it means that I will need courage in the near future. I certainly know I have it with everything I’ve come across on my journey. Maybe I’ll need more or maybe I need to pass this on.

So this is what I’m doing. This is a reminder of what we need when we face our trials on life’s journey, especially someone with cancer or a life threatening disease. So please make this as a reminder for someone that needs courage.

Pass it on.

When I see the lamb I am reminded of how precious we all are to God, how he would leave everything and come to save just one of us.

I made mine into a bookmark but it can also hang as a small banner. So please feel free to change the colors, I think it would look great on white and different shades of pink.

Just go to the top corner of the chart and when the icons show up, press save, save as a photo and then you can go to your photos and print it from there. I hope this works for you.
