Freshies

Liam and Meagan
We had my grandson this Saturday and he was so much fun. I got alot of stitching done yesterday and started some new projects that I wish I could share but I cant until they are almost done, so maybe in a week or two. I think you will love one of the ideas because it has me so excited!!!. OK (A hint) It is stitching over (1) on 28ct but I do not like to cross stitch on that size so I am using a continental stitch. Ok that is the hint but there is more to it, so I better get stitching so I can share more. have a great day donna

Peek @ Holly & Erica

Sale at the Shop and Twitter

Just announcing the sale that I will have at the shop on Monday for Memorial Day. I will open from 12-3. The sale will be 25% off everything in the shop. So stock up for your summer stitching. I have been trying to expand my horizons and tried Facebook but I put that one on hold for a while and decided to try Twitter. It looked easier and at least I have something on it so follow me on Twitter if you have an account for some up to date shop changes, events, new releases, and all of those other good things.

Our Weekend @ Celebration

What a long weekend. Most of the week before was quite hectic with an awful lot of work preparing for the annual Celebration Of Needlework weekend. I unclothed my shop walls as I packed up and shipped the models to the hotel in Nashua NH so that the show designer booth could be set up. In addition to those models more were sent down to Erica from Yankee Cross Stitch who also honored me with a display of my work.

Bailey Wanted To Come With Us :(
Its just me doing some last things to get ready for class

Love Life Class

White Pumpkin Pin Cushion for Round Robin
Having completed my shipping task I next prepared 50 kits for the shows Round Robin and another 14 "Love Life " kits. (I'm tired again just thinking about it)

So Friday afternoon included a road trip with my hubby to Nashua NH (Yes he volunteered to help keep me in check despite the fact that he was getting sick again, brave soul) Pulling up to the Marriott what my wondering eyes should appear but my friend Joyce and sister Anne with all their shopping gear. Having caught up on news with them it was a quick check in, change of cloths and down to the show. I checked in at the show registration desk and dropped of my models for Love Life and White Pumpkin pin cushion. The show designer models were right next to the registration desk and was so happy to see quite a few people talking to Kelly there. We touched base with Erica and Marlo at the "Yankee Cross Stitch" booth and then off to see more. We met a couple of "Mainers"who had a vendor booth "Thread Express". Colleen and Marlee whose shop is in New Gloucester Maine. They were simply just great people and their specialty work was just beautiful. As it turns out we made some new friends and will hopefully will be working together with them on some future classes and possibly a seaside retreat.
Well the classes went very well at both groups and the stitchers were just wonderful down to earth people. This brings us to Sunday morning, one more stroll to check out the vendors and then packing and wrapping of the 40 plus stitched models. And we were off for a ride back home to our shop "By The Bay"

In closing this very long post I want to extend some very heartfelt thanks to the many people that purchased my designs and to all of my class participants. Next I want to thank Pam Reed for having me as the Featured Designer this year and thank you Kelly for taking good care of my models at the display. It was also nice to meet Bob Reed of Olde Colonial Designs who makes the most beautiful frames and boxes. I hope to have him make some for me soon and I will be designing some small pieces for them and selling them in the shop. Thank to Erica from Yankee Cross Stitch who also displayed many of my models and remains one of my oldest industry friends. And yes thank you to my brave husband who was a big help behind the scenes giving me moral support. He referred the weekend to "Estrogen Weekend" You could count the men that were there on one hand. (And he spent the following week in the hospital :( but is home now and doing ok

That's all for now and look for longer hours at the shop for the for summer, and hopefully many classes. We are taking on the task of building a website. Wish us luck as I hear horror stories about them!. But I am very persistent so if there is a will there is a way. Thanks for reading my very long post and hope you enjoy the pictures. There were so many more vendors to take pictures of but I ran out of time :(
Good Day , donna

We went to a fishing Derby yesterday morning and my grandson Liam caught his first fish. He was so happy. It was a rainy day but that didn't bother anyone (Except when it poured). We had fun!!

Picture of "Early American Garden"

Good Morning,

I am still putting together a post for Celebration to share some things with you but my computer had to go to the DOC's again. Third time in about a year. I could have purchased a new one with the amount it cost me to get this one fixed. I did finish my new design and will share this photo with you. I have some close ups to take also and I will post those on my other blog with the supplies list. That will take me a while so you can check back for that on Friday. Alot of computer work to catch up on and I will talk to you again soon.

Peek @ "Early American Garden"

What a beautiful day here!! I want to share a photo of what I have been working on.
A design called "Early American Garden". I first designed it with 2 palm trees but then decided it looked so much like "Blue Hawaiian Garden". So I changed the trees to more of an old wall mural look. But with this release I will have stitched the more recent one and I will also included the directions (With a color computer image sticker) for the original with the palm tree, so it will be like 2 charts in one. If you live on the West coast or southern Atlantic coast or any where there are palm trees this one is for you and if you love the old early American look this one is also for you. I hope you will enjoy this one coming soon.

TUSAL update

My ORT jar is filling up little by little. Here are a couple of pictures of my re-arranging. I opened up the table so if you would like to come over and stitch for a while you are welcome to as long as there is no class at the time. I am in the process of making things to sell on my Etsy shop so you should check back with that in a couple of weeks. (Pumpkins are on the way and flowers too)

Have a great day

Still Here

I am still here but I am just fixing the store up for the summer season and to make room for classes. All my models are back up in the shop from Celebration and I will post pictures later of my re-arranging. I had fun at Celebration and met so many nice people. I will share more of that as soon as I get better organized with pictures and who is who. I tend to forget peoples names(Shame on me) never anything personal just one of my glitches. Working on a new model so, stitch stitch away. And I will talk to you more this evening
