What A Good Read

I just finished reading a book called "In His Steps" by Charles M Sheldon. It was a really great book to read and asks the question "What would Jesus Do?" I am on my spiritual quest as I am sure many of us are. Always wanting to know more and always searching for answers. Well I made up a quick free chart that can be stitched to place in your home to remind you to ask yourself this question.

Just double click on the image to enlarge it and then go to your printer icon and press to print. Happy Stitching and Growing, Donna

All Finished

Hi , I hope everyone had a safe and Happy Holiday. I finally finished my Christmas stockings. I only had time to take a picture of one of them and here it is. What an evening we are having here. More snow and ice. It's a good night for stitching, just the cat and I are home and the cat is snoozing, what a life. Donna

What I've been up to

Here are some pictures of the 24 reindeer that I made from corks. They look so cute all together, like a herd. I also am posting a pic of one of the Christmas stockings I'm making for my family. I still have to work on the hats and scarfs. I'll update you with a finished picture as soon as I can. Who knows it may be on Christmas Eve, I don't seem to be sewing very fast today.I still have some last minute shopping to do and then plenty of things to wrap. Hope you all have a good day and keep safe. Donna

Pomegranate Estate

Here are the pictures I took today. Sorry they seem to be a little dark, I guess I missed the daylight. This chart should be released sometime at the end of December. We've been getting ready for Christmas, a little shopping and stitching. I think I should start getting ready next year in the summer. To much to do but I enjoy it. What would Christmas be without the rush. Have a great weekend and take time to feel the Spirit of the Holiday.

Still Here

Hi everyone, I'm still here. It's been pretty busy. I just finished my new designs and got them to the distributor for release this weekend. I also finished a new design called "Pomegranate Estate". And of course there was Thanksgiving. We had it here, the family. It was great and my grandson was so cute. I love to post pictures of stitching but my camera is tired. So guess what I need to ask Santa for. I'll try to post a picture soon of my new design or at least a sneak peek, but I'll see if I can borrow my daughters camera for that. Donna

Rolling Hills Of Winter and Old World Santas(PN)

Ok So I'll post the pic before this evening. I guess I have time. "Rolling Hills Of Winter" will be available at the end of November. It was fun to stitch because I love doing the different stitches. I can't wait to see what the spring one will look like, I just love to play with the colors. And the other new design is called "Old World Santas". These are punch needle Santas that I punched this summer and decided to release them for the Holiday season. They are quick and fun to stitch. I used my needle at 2 different heights to get the 3 dimensional look. They can be used as ornaments or a pins. I hope you enjoy them as much a I enjoyed stitching and punching them. Donna

OOPs

Carol just brought to my attention that on my Frostys Tree Trimmers chart that I forgot to mark down the color that I used on "Baby Frostys" hat. It was DMC 3347.
Also if any one else notices on "Mrs Frosty", the chart shows the snowflake above her hat, but I was in such a rush to finish my ornamnet for a deadline that I forgot to stitch it in my model. One of those days!
I finished my "Rolling Hills Of Winter" today and also decided to release a trio of 3 punch needle Santa faces that I did a while ago. I'll post pictures this evening. Have to go, until later, Donna

Class Preview "Stitch Notebook"

I thought I would share some photos of some things I've been working on lately. I plan on giving a class at Yankee Cross Stitch in North Hampton NH. I'm planning a "Stitch Notebook". We will learn a whole bunch of different stitches and make samples for a notebook. We will also receive a pattern to try out these stitches on. We will use that design to make a cover for our stitchbook. I haven't figured out all the specifics yet but I'm working on it. Here are some pics of my design with all the stitches we will learn. I will post a pic of the notebook as soon as
I finish the cover and maybe I'll have more info then, Donna.

Avrils Stumpwork

I wanted to share a picture of one of the students work in our year long stumpwork class. This is Avrils piece that she finished and framed. It looks so good. Everyone made their own changes to their homework pieces. They made them their own. I am so proud of her work and she actually finished it. Better than me, I'm still on those borders. I'll still try to get in touch with the other people in the class and see if they could share their pictures with us too. Donna

Frostys Tree Trimmers

Hi everyone. I finished my new designs. These went pretty fast for stitching, they make great ornaments. You could add some beads for a little sparkle. Maybe I'll try that on some that I make as gifts. Stitching all four in a grouping , or in a row is another idea.
I made Dad (in the black hat), Mom ( in the red hat), Baby( in the green bonnet), and one plain with no hat. You could also print someones Name underneath the ornament to make them personal. Well I'm on to my next project.

Happy school shopping to everyone else that has to get out there.

Working On "Summer Shade"

Hi everyone, I am fine, just enjoying the beautiful days.I've also been stitching. Working on a new design called "Summer Shade". It's almost done. Sorry I tried to take a picture of it tonight but my batteries died in my camera. Maybe tomorrow. But I did manage to get one photo earlier today of the pomegranate stumpwork with a frame that I painted for it.
I have a question for anyone out there. If you were to take a class at a cross stitch shop what kind of class would you like? I'm going to be teaching more and would like to know what you are looking for. I love stumpwork but I realize that it's not for everyone so any suggestion would be great. Thank you, Donna

Keeping Busy

Hi everyone, I am almost finished my job at the daycare. I will surely miss everyone. My daughter finished junior high this week too, on to high school. It's a time for changes, I have to look into the future with great expectations. I've been planning some stumpwork classes to give at Yankee Cross Stitch. A pomegranate is first, and a sunflower next. I do not have anything finished yet to show you but I have some pics of other projects that I finished a while ago. One is a pin cushion with a stumpwork flower on top. I got that pattern from a "Stitchers World" magazine a long time ago. The other is of a sunflower that I made up myself in a watering can and then there's a cross stitch pattern of a flower that I will release and make into a pinkeep (over one). I guess I have a thing for flowers and trees. I got a book from the library the other day of all very old trees. It's great, they're hundreds of years old and so wise. Well, until I finish another project so I'll have something to share with you. Have a great weekend. Donna

I'm also working on another design that I called "Mystic Island"

Happy Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day. Got up early this AM, made breakfast and worked on the directions for the "Lighthouse Sampler". The printer needs maintenance so I can't print it off. Well I'll just have to take a trip to buy more toner. I'm still working on that pic of the lighthouses but I put up some more stump work pictures of a class that I gave at Yankee Cross Stitch. We met every 2 weeks for a year to complete it, and I'm still working on the borders. Until later, Donna
