A Share from Michelle and the winner for the giveaway is.......
"Box Of Summer "
Michelle decided to leave out the word "Summer" and add some clouds
so she could leave it up for a longer period of time!! Great idea
And she finished a free Summer Mystery Sampler that I had in 2012...She left the alphabet out because of the blue background.....Here is a link to that Mystery Sampler
I want to thank Michelle for sharing her work with us...I just love everyone's creativity!!! and I enjoy seeing the changes you make along the way.
I have a new Facebook Group for all of us that love to change things and be creative. If you are on Facebook the name of the group is "Handwork With Flax and Wool"
I only have 3 followers.....haha but it will grow !! Patience
I did the drawing this morning for the Bag Giveaway.....I printed off the names of everyone that left me a message and put them in my large popcorn bucket!!
And then I grabbed a piece of paper and the winner is.....
Marlene.....so Marlene if you could email me with your mailing address
I will send the bag out to you...
Congratulations!! and thank you to everyone that left me a message...it was great hearing from you again.....well I am off to do some cross stitching for a new design.....have a good day and maybe we can keep in touch in the Facebook Group too

Having A Giveaway & Newsletters Just Went Out
Having a Giveaway !!
But first I am sharing a picture of this months free Affirmation Word "Peaceful".
The Newsletters have just gone out and include "Peaceful"....The punch needle angel is something I designed a few years ago but never made the directions yet to be released...I think I attempted them but life got in the way at that time and I actually forgot about her :(...But she has a good home now on my quilted wall hanging!!
And onto the GIVEAWAY!!
I had this bag made with the picture of "Heritage Homestead" added when I was still designing it ( not a picture of the completed design..just a work in progress)...so this is a one of a kind bag that measure 15 wide x 11 high...it has a very durable zipper and handle...made of a nice thick canvas, and can be used for a tablet, book, project bag, etc.......so if it sounds like I am doing a sales add...I am not...I am giving this bag away!!
Just leave me a small message on my blog .....I will have a drawing on Friday Dec 9th, and post the one lucky winner then :)
Good luck and may a stitchy person win!!

Happy Tuesday to all!! Back to working....turkey all cleaned, millions of dished done, food packed, and mom is back at home....and the house is still a bit clean! YEAH!!
I hope you all had a Blessed Thanksgiving.....
Just a quick note that Lori from Not Forgotten Farm used my Tree Directions/Pattern to make some Wool Feather trees for her open house on Saturday....her husband also made some of the cutest "House" tree stands for them.....she posted them on Facebook but here is a link to her blog with info about her OPEN HOUSE this Saturday, check out her Etsy shop and if I lived closer I would love to visit her for the Open House.....But I will have to dream.....Thank you Lori
And Rose from Three Sheep Studio also used my Directions/Pattern to make some trees and made some really cute tree skirts for them....here is a link for her too!!!.....
You can find info on the right sidebar and find the picture of the trees....check out Roses blog and Etsy shop .....very nice things to make and create....keep those fingers busy!!
Here is a couple of pictures of a tree that I made using cotton fabric that I coffee stained. Looking for that old newspaper print look!
Cotton Fabric that I purchased and coffee stained
a Cube of wood that I covered with music note paper
I cut these strips to be 1 1/2 inches wide...they frayed a bit but that is ok
because thats the look I wanted....OLD :)
Bailey is looking in the window in the back.......Birds maybe?
So if you are looking for the Wool Feather Tree Directions you can find them here......and don't forget you can use other materials besides wool.....!!
HAVE A BLESSED DAY

Betsy is sharing her finish of Serenity Harbor
The piece was stitched by Betsy Minor who is a client and stitcher at Country Cupboard in Orland Park, IL. She changed the colors of the flowers and large house to yellow which complements the piece nicely. The "finishing" was done by Karen Jablonski of "Averyclaire NeedleArts" . She added a matching cotton backing, handmade cording and hand painted dowel and finials.
And I have to say it looks beautiful....I love the changes and the finish with a dowel hanger is wonderful....Thank you Betsy & Karen for sharing.

Just a FEW things
Happy Tuesday to everyone
Here is another picture of an idea to assemble the Christmas "HexiHive" that will be available soon
By The Bay Needleart
I was trolling the internet and found on Valley House Primitives a frame that they made for Dolly. She finished 13th Colony Bay and they made a special frame for her. I have seen this before but I just found it again and needed to share it. They have made frames for me before and they are wonderful. So check out the special one here for Dolly!! "Valley House Primitives
Since I am giving a class on the feather trees this weekend I have always wanted to make one out of old newspaper....I know it would not have a very long shelf life but I wanted to try it....since I bring finished trees to class to give ideas I must make a paper one.....but to have to make it last so my bright idea was to purchase some cotton fabric that has print on it...coffee stain it so it would look old and yellowed....I am on my way to make one!! I will post a picture this afternoon when I am finished! Wish me luck :)
Until later.......have a good day.......donna

SAL invites have gone out and there is a change in the fabric choice
Hi everyone,
I found out yesterday
that Forest Mist from Wichelt has been discontinued.
Leave it up to me to
pick something from my stash that I loved and it is no longer available…..this
happens at the grocery store too. We find something we love…get used to it and
then all of a sudden the store decides to no longer carry it….and when you get
to the check out and they say “Did you find everything you were looking for?”
……I say no and they send me to another counter to fill out a bunch of paper
work……its not worth it!!
So this morning I
contacted Picture This Plus and spoke to Marilyn…..she was so helpful and we
came up with a solution….a substitute would be “Pampas”…..Forest
Mist was close to DMC 523 and 522…….and this substitute fabric looks great.
Yeah we found a solution
and I think you will be pleased!! Thank you Picture This Plus.
Here is a link to the fabric:
or
if you prefer a solid fabric please look for something comparable to DMC 523 or DMC 522

Good day everyone!!
I have some pictures to share with you of what I have been working on.
I will be teaching these 2 pieces as a class at Camp Wool in Kennebunk Maine and also they will be available from me at my Studio. I will release them also as charted directions for those that do not live close by to take a class.....working on those directions:)
By The Bay Needleart "Autumns "HexiHive Mini Quilt" as a table runner |

By The Bay Needleart "Mermaids Garden" in a multi medium |
The "HexiHive" will be available in different seasons......Christmas Holiday, Winter, Spring and of course how could I design them without a "Seaside" theme!!!!!
I am also taking these motifs that I designed and turning them into "Stitch An Inch" cross stitch designs that I have thought up an awesome way to finish with wool !!!
So look for more on the way and if you have any suggestions please send them to me I would appreciate your input. And once the directions are all finished I will have a giveaway for one!!
