Peek #4 @ Prim Holy Night....

Here is my Heavenly Angel. She is larger than the others, very simple. She has no facial features because I was thinking about the Bible verse in Hebrews 13:2  "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers for some have entertained angels unawares" Any stranger could be an angel :)

I will post the whole grouping tomorrow and should have them ready for Etsy next week They will also be going out to shops then too.
See you tomorrow and always be kind you never know who it could be....

The winner is.... and a peek at a new design coming soon

And the winner is Gracie........ Congrats to Gracie and check out her blog we all love visits :)
Thank you to all that left a message, it was nice to hear from you and thank you for the well wishes for hubby.

I was planning an open house on Oct 18, but I have to postpone that. Many doctor appointments and to much to do. I would never be ready in time so I am sorry about that but it will happen some day, I just don't know when!

So I am going to share what has had me busy these past few days(other than the house work and usual), I decided that I had to frame "Autumn In Vermont" and didn't want to go to the store so I rummaged in the attic and found a wooden tray from the Christmas Tree Shop. The design would fit perfect so I painted it a golden color and then got out my vinegar and some brown paint and faux painted the tray, sprayed it with a varnish, pinned the design onto a thick mat board, glued it in the tray, and then added a hanger to the back.
Wish I took a picture before, it wad red with a snowman painted in the center
 VOILA!!
"Autumn In Vermont" in my tray to hang
All ready to go to Yankee Cross Stitch to hang with the other models in my corner. Check out the shop if you are in the area as I am bringing more kits tomorrow along with models. Its always nice to see the real thing finished before your eyes.
That is not the new design but this is :)
I have released "Primitive Holy Night" on my Etsy but thought it was missing some things. I put my thinking cap on and made more designs to go with it.
What would the Holy Night be without the heralding angels and the sheep looking on.
So I made some small cherub that can be made as ornaments or  the Holy Night scene could be made larger by stitching these angels above the words. A little lamb looking on at a glorious sign.
Check back Wednesday for a peek at another of the added designs that go with this pack. There are 3 more that have been added.
Until tomorrow, have a good night

Having a Big Giveaway

Having A Big Giveaway

I have been very busy working on another design for the Holiday season. Just picked up hubby yesterday from a 10 day stay in the hospital and on the way to a doctors appointment but before we leave I wanted to post about a giveaway.
Just leave me a message and between today and Sunday I will gather all of the messages and draw a name to win a cross stitch chart for "Autumn In Vermont" and a "Give Thanks Pillow Kit".
I miss hearing from all of you so this will be a chance to catch up.
Have a great day with blessings

New Kits available

Well it was a hectic week. We had a small birthday party for our grandson Liam who turned 8. So I picked up mom and she stayed for the weekend. Then hubby's issue that always lands him in the hospital started, so I had to take him there, I was not feeling well with diverticulitis issues that I try to keep at bay and then mom was achy all over and she will be 80 in November. So no matter how much I want to get done I must learn to go with the flow :)  I did manage to get to the printer and will fold and glue pictures today for "Autumn In Vermont", also on the burner was "Give Thanks" Kit that I finished this morning. I just listed it on Etsy.
It was fun to make because I always love working with wool. Then I remembered something from long ago:  it was drawing on fabric, coloring in with crayons and then highlighting with embroidery. So I figured I would take the design I just made, draw it out and try my hand at it. It was fun and what a great idea for you to do with your kids or grandchildren. They could help with the coloring and then you could teach them to embroider or just do it yourself. I love it because it looks handmade and so old fashion.
Here is a you-tube link that I found with a little instruction about how to prepare your fabric for coloring.
She used colored pencils but the suggestion about the freezer paper is a good idea.

So that is my share for today, hope you have a peaceful fall day

I have been working on an Etsy shop exclusive that should be ready by Saturday, a little wool, a little cross stitch and maybe even some embroidery with a hint of coloring with crayons. Who knows may be it is something you could work on with the kids or grand kids.

White Pumpkin Patch is this weeks HIGHLIGHT SPECIAL

This weeks HIGHLIGHT SPECIAL is "White Pumpkin Patch". I designed this in 2006. I love some primitive ( not all ) but some. Some is just to dirty looking for me, but I do love the coffee dyed and tea stained look. So this was my attempt at a bit prim. I stained my fabric so you could see the pumpkins better and made it a bit dirty. I am also into vinegar staining wood and stained this frame myself.  This is about the time I started thinking about making designs that could be easily framed without losing an arm and a leg.  I made this design so if stitched on 32ct linen or 16ct Aida it would fit great in a 4 x 6 frame. Always thinking of you :) (and me too)
You can find this chart for the special of $5.00 instead of the regular $7.00. This week only on Etsy.

I did have another special for the month of September on Etsy that for every customer I would email the PDF chart for "Autumn Fleur" and 2 pieces of fabric that I dyed myself. This was as long as my dyed fabric supply lasted. Well it is gone :( I had so many orders :)
But I will still send the PDF chart free to any Etsy customer for the month of September.

While you are there check out my USED Book Sale .
